Canadian green peas
Canadian whole green peas are grown across the prairie provinces and valued for round, well-coloured seed suited to splitting, canning, rehydration products, and snack processing. Green colour retention is the commercial priority for this class, and Canadian growing and handling conditions support it. Bleached-kernel limits are defined in the CGC grade.

Green pea FAQs
What does “bleached” mean in a green pea grade?
Bleaching is fading of the green seed coat from sun and weather before harvest. The CGC grade caps the bleached percentage — No. 1 Canada allows less than No. 2 Canada. For colour-sensitive markets, specify the grade and ask for the current crop's colour condition.
