Canadian flaxseed

Canada is among the world's largest flaxseed exporters. Grown in Canada's prairie provinces, Canadian brown flax serves oil crushers, food manufacturers (bakery, cereals, ground flax), and feed markets, with high oil content and the omega-3 (ALA) profile that drives food demand.

Types and grades

  • Brown flaxseed — the principal export class. Typical grade: No. 1 Canada Western (CW).
